Design is a process requiring rigour and freedom, focus and expansion. How does a concept emerge, and how does it evolve and become a built entity? A lecture on the design process asking looking playing making, suggesting a way to design and deliver each building by finding a story rooted in nature. Four storytelling tools of riddle, quest, archetype, and entity, equate to stages in the design process leading to each project’s realisation. Why are stories important? What role does nature play in the design process?
